The institution where money without director is investigated

Even though the board's competition for the Financial Intelligence Unit opened on August 3rd of last year, the position is still empty. Since 3 August last year, the Financial Intelligence Unit has been without a director.
And this very important dictatorship within the Ministry of Finance has since been operating on duty watch. Just three days after the dismissal of the former NYIF director, due to serious disciplinary violations, this minister has opened the competition for director.
But even though more than six months have passed, the name of the new director has not yet emerged from this competition.
From the Ministry of Finance, they say this will happen very soon.
“On August 7th 2021, the competition for this position has been announced and all competition procedures have been completed (examination of apps, close list publication, complaining procedures for the narrow list and interviews). Currently, the Recruiting Commission is completing the final report to proceed with the NJIF-K Board for decision-making”, Muharrem Sahini said by the MFPT Public Communication Division.
For the delay in electing the new NYIF director, RTV Duagjini has also asked the Government of Kosovo questions, but no response has been given to this institution. Gzim Shala, of the Kosovo Institute for Justice, for this unit must have a full-term director as soon as possible.
It's still very important that for any other institution to have elected a fair director and full mandate, because the same if there's a mandate of this nature, it can do the work plan where you see a certain institution and that can't happen with the task fraud”, Shala said.
The Financial Intelligence Unit is the independent national institution responsible for publicising information about potential money laundering and financing terrorism.
