Exporters complain of no support, Hasani: We Are Key to Economic Development

Kosovo Exporters' Association Chairman Nexhat Hasani, in an interview for Online Economy, has said that even though exports is one of the factors directly affecting economic development, the approach of all Governments has been extremely low. According to him, export has not even had any access to economic development, seeking [...]
Even according to him, export has not had any access to economic development, thus requiring continued support.
In addition to this recent visit that these 50 investors, foreigners who have gone through embassies, they have so far had no major impact on the economy. So I suggest institutions and Government in this area work a lot more because I think that the only way and the known export is one of the main factors of economic development and they have to do more”.
We have no approach to economic development so far. Export is one of the main factors that directly affect economic development. The approach of all governments is extremely small. Although we have last year's export growth but that growth is more nominal than it's real”.
Hasan said there is a percentage increase in export and import, but only in numbers and this growth is not real, even though he says there has been 80% export growth.
“We further cover the import approximately 17-18 percent. We have a 400 million increase in 700 million. This means we have an increase of 80 percent of our exports. However, we cover import with less than 20 percent. By 2020 we've had an import of about 2 billion and 600 million, now we have 3 billion and 400 million. The growth is in numbers but it's not real because we don't cover import with export”.
Hasani also stressed that Kosovo has the potential to cover the local market, even export to other countries, EO reports.
“Ukrainian has been one of the largest food products producers. We have shortages and production deficits in food products. We don't produce for the local market either, we don't meet our demands. We have to get to the approach of agriculture especially. We have products that Kosovo can complete to the whole of domestic consumption, even with exports”.
Kosovo has all preconditions to produce meat even for foreign markets not only for the local market. When we add milk products to this, over 100 million we only import meat and milk products. We don't need any professional preparation to qualify for this matter”.
There's a huge growth in the wheat industry, we have the mattress industry, the processor, the metalworker that's been making a huge boost over the last few years of the bad adjustments we've said about Ukraine, and Ukraine is one of the biggest metal producers in Europe and the world, and we have enormous growth in raw materials, so we have a total disorder for the moment of economy”.
