UN: Evacuation comes from the steel factory in Mariupol, complex situation

The United Nations is conducting a secure <x0-source transfer” for civilians from the Azovstal steel plant in the Ukrainian town of Mariupol.
This was confirmed by Saviono Abreu, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the Red Cross.
Evacuation began on April 29th and is co-ordinating with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Russia and Ukraine.
Abreu said the convoy arrived at the steel factory Saturday morning. He described the situation regarding evacuations as <x0 complex”.
Abreu added that further details could not be provided so that the security of the evacuees still making the trip would not be jeopardised.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said 46 people were evacuated from areas surrounding the Azovstal steel factory in Mariulpol. Ukraine said 20 people left the plant on Saturday.
