The response is said to be discriminatory and violates the right of these children celebrating with other children and seeks to take adequate measures, as the case has occurred in the presence of representatives of central and local institutions.
The “Operations by August and the Municipal Education Directorate in Pec should be urgent and effective in taking adequate measures against such cases that have a negative impact on these communities and society in general”, it is said in response.
The NGO “Vicice of Rome, Ashkali and Egypt's” strongly condemns such exclusive and discriminating actions of members of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, and requires that this case be handled on the basis of the Law for Protection from Discrimination.
“It is very important that in addition to reacting on a day like this and other days be passed in silence, in fact every day it would take Kosovo's institutions to work hard at preventing such cases of religious prosecution and working in terms of our society's awareness. So we seek institutional responsibility and take adequate measures for the case in question”, the response concludes.
