Bislimi says agreement finalising with Serbia close to finalisation

Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi is reporting to the Foreign Affairs Commission regarding dialogue with Serbia. The issue of plates and electricity issue Bislimi said they were seen as the precondition for creating a suitable atmosphere for negotiations between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq. Bislim said it is very close [...]
Bislimi said it is very close to reaching an agreement with Serbia on the issue of supply, billing and paying electricity bills in northern Kosovo.
The energy issue we've presented a guide to how we should come to normalize the normalised situation that has seen steps from Elektroserver's licensing to full fat. That is 105 days in advance, and I think that we are very close to finalising this agreement, and perhaps very soon it can be said that it has bilateral agreement to start implementing it”, he said.
Not wanting to give details of the deal so that, as he said, “is not risking anything”, Bislim stressed that at last, there may be concrete results in the matter.
So that's why in this case I'd need more or less space not to talk about the details of the deal so that nothing is at stake in the last minute. But I can say that we are on a good track to finally have concrete results and eventually northern Kosovo to enter the normal supply system, billing and payment of energy bills”, the deputy prime minister said.
At the time of the license plates, Bislimi said no reconciliation has been reached. The default is to prepare a B plan for plates”, he said.
The issue of license plates and electricity are two of the topics that are most discussed in the dialogue between chief negotiators and Bislim had a reason for that.
We have had an agreement at the beginning to focus mainly on the legally binding, comprehensive agreement, but confronting these two topics has been a must for two reasons. The license agreement had an expiration deadline on September 15, 2021, and we were therefore forced to find a solution on how to proceed. That was why we had to deal with the issue of license plates”, he said.
And second, energy, because we haven't managed to get the north into the normal billing system. The second has had huge financial and political costs”, Bislim added.
These two issues, the deputy prime minister presented as “to” for an appropriate atmosphere for the summit between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
“We think this is a prerequisite to create an appropriate atmosphere for starting negotiations on the comprehensive agreement among the heads of state”, he said.
