Denmark and Sweden have said a Russian spy plane has violated the two countries' airspace.
Both countries have called the Russian ambassadors for the incident.
Danish Defence Command told AFP that the plane was a scout who was in Danish airspace for “a very short moment” and that Danish F-16 “immediately entered”.
He added that such incidents are rare.
Danish Foreign Minister Gjepe Kofod said the violation was “legally unacceptable and especially disturbing in the current situation”.
While Denmark is a member of NATO, Sweden is debating whether to join the alliance.
However, Swedish Defence Minister Dagens Nyheter told the newspaper there was no evidence that the incident was related to these discussions.
