Born in the town of Peja in Kosovo, Mirsad Kandic had emigrated to the United States and had residence permits. He could be sentenced to life imprisonment when the verdict is announced in November of this year.
According to documents and evidence presented in court, Mirsad Kandic had many responsibilities within the global terrorist organisation, I The SIS, including recruiting foreign fighters, trafficking from west through Turkey to Syria, and securing weapons, military equipment, maps, money and false identities for ISIS fighters.
“In carrying out these responsibilities, the defendant worked directly with I's goods SIS and field commanders, including Bajro Ikanovic, who commanded a training camp of I SIS in Syria starting in or around 2014.
