U.S. Marine Trevor Reed was imprisoned in 2020 after charges of alcohol - related violence. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the American citizen was released “following a long process of talks” in exchange for Russian nationalist Konstantin Yárosenko, who was imprisoned for more than a decad in the US following charges involving drug smuggling.
After the news, the Reed family reacted where they announced their release, where they said the <x0m dëgjonels were heard and Trevor is returning safely to the United States”.
The White House also issued a statement in which President Joe Biden has announced Trevor Reed's family for his release.
