Ukrainian residents who have been stranded in the city of Marioupolis are facing the threat of disease, in addition to shelling by Russian forces. They are in a shortage of food and water, Ukrainian officials warned on Saturday, describing the living conditions in the city as <x0-thermier”.
Some 100,000 Marioupolis residents are at risk of deadly epidemics such as cholera, dysentery and Escherichia coli, and this is not only due to promotions, but also because of the unacceptable living conditions and non-sanitary conditions”, it is said in a post of Ukraine's Parliament on Twitter.
The air temperature has already reached 20 degrees. Powerful and deadly epidemics could soon explode in the city because of the lack of centralised water supply and sewers, decomposing thousands of corpses under ruins and catastrophic water shortages and food”, parliament said.
“Occupants cannot provide the existing population with food, water and medicine. They block all evacuation efforts. And without evacuation, people will die. Now in destroyed Marioupolis, there are medieval living conditions. Instant evacuation required”.
