Earlier, President Zelensky and local authorities had estimated that the number of victims was about 10,000, but today the figure doubled.
Marioupol is one of the virtually decapitated Ukrainian cities of the Russian bombings, as it is located near Russia's border on the coast of the Azov Sea.
