According to Ukrainian state nuclear company Energoatom, the centre staff said there are no foreigners at the station now, writes BBC, records Periscope.
Earlier it was said that some Russian forces have fled towards the border of Belarus, leaving behind a small group.
The announcement appears to have confirmed reports by US defence officials Wednesday, where it was announced for the withdrawal.
Russian troops had taken Chernoobili early in their invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.
This morning, the invaders announced their intention to leave the Chernobyl nuclear station”, Energatom announced in a statement Thursday.
The company later accused Russia's army of taking members of the Ukraine National Guard as hostages since the beginning of the war. Energoatom gave this news to the workers at the station and didn't give the numbers.
Reuters news agency quoted station workers as saying some of the soldiers were unaware they were in a radiation zone.
The Russian Army, however, said that after receiving the thermal power plant, the radiation level at the station had stayed within normal values.
The International Atomic Energy Agency in a statement said it was unable to confirm these reports.
