Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has accused Russia of trying to cover up evidence of war crimes. Zelensky has visited Bucan, about 30km northwest of Kiev, dressed in military equipment and surrounded by military personnel Monday. He spoke of death and destruction in the already liberated villages of Stoyanka, Irpin and Butka. “Cities are simply destroyed”, he said. Ukraine's president warned that civilian losses could be higher in other villages. He is expected to address the WTO Security Council later today.
Sumy Oblast's governor, Dmytro Dyvytsky, has announced that Konotrop, in Sumy Oblast County, Ukraine's army has found the bodies of at least three civilians tortured.
Without displaying evidence of their claims, some Russian officials have described war crimes reports as false. Dmitry Medvedev said that: “They were mounted for a large amount of money”, and the spokesman for the low house in Russia's Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin said that “The situation in Butka is a provocation aimed at discrediting Russia.
