During yesterday's interview with Prime Minister Edi Rama, journalist Blendi Fevziu has said that “in Tirana's informal areas” is claiming to be lobbiing for Albania's prime minister to become Secretary General NATO.
An Albanian-German researcher made a post saying Rama is one of the potential candidates for NATO secretary, to later show that this was just a lie issued by her.
Rama said last night on the “Opion” that his name may have been talked about Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance.
This “doesn't matter, it may have even been talked about, but it doesn't matter what this” is, he said.
The prime minister, questioned whether he or his friends were lobbling for him, said, “I swear neither to NATO Secretary General, nor to UN Secretary General”.
Rama says these matter now that current NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg has extended his mandate until 2023. On the other hand, he says he has the contract with Albanians, like prime minister.
The issue of Ram's running and election at NATO helm has been issued as a false statement, but international media for more than a year allude to who the next secretary might be.
