Police detail the action in the North and several other locations: 11 Arrested

Kosovo police, the Department of Borders, respectively, in the continuation of the feasibility of strategic targets in preventing and combating crime, smuggling and other cross-border criminal phenomena, in co-operation with Kosovo Customs, have conducted police operation “Transport 250. Intensive investigations began at the end of 2021, with authorisation of the prosecution, against several suspects of Kosovo citizens, with suspicion of committing the banned criminal act.
Today, with the date of 08.04.22, in the region of Ferizaj and North Mitrovica, the operational plan has been carried out, under which the Kosovo Border Police and Customs Department has conducted control in four locations (three in the municipality of Shtrepca and one in the North Mitrovica) and has stopped, controlled four vehicles allegedly carried out, legally banned trade and smuggling.
A significant amount of commercial goods (food, alcohol, tobacco, etc.) have been found in these four locations and banned vehicles. In consultation with the State Attorney, the goods were confiscated by Kosovo Customs and eleven Kosovars were arrested under suspicion of engaging in banned trade and three vehicles seized.
Kosovo police remain committed towards realising strategic goals to prevent criminal activities, smuggling and other negative phenomena.
