Thus has European Commission spokeswoman Ana Pisonero declared when she was asked not to hold tomorrow's elections with Serbia in Kosovo.
Kosovo has a clear European perspective. The EU continues to support Kosovo in approaching the EU, starting through implementation of the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Agreement that entered into force in 2016. Kosovo's European road also depends on normalising relations with Serbia. We regret that a consensus has not been found between the parties following Kosovo's decision to reject a constructive proposal presented by the QUINT countries. We consider this decision contrary to Kosovo's commitments for its European future and the principle of protecting the democratic rights of all its citizens, including the non-US population”, she has said of Kosovas.
Prime Minister Kurti has demanded from Serbia that it be addressed at the request for the 3 April elections, but Belgrade has declined.
This has resulted in the Kosovo government's decision not to allow Serb elections scheduled for April 3rd.
On March 25th, in Gracanica and Northern Mitrovica, Serbs protested the Kosovo Government's decision not to allow Serbia's parliamentary and presidential elections on Kosovo territory.
The Quint States have expressed a major “disappointment with the Government of Kosovo's decision not to allow Serbia's elections, scheduled for April 3rd.
