Democratic Party of Kosovo Secretary Standard Nikaj has named the Kurti Government unable to govern, following the latter's decision to allocate additions of 100 euros to workers, students and pensioners for April alone.
Nikaj at a media conference said the prime minister is testifying every day that he and his ministers have no idea to develop the country and address citizens' needs and concerns.
What Prime Minister Albin Kurti is doing today is what he knows best, which is populism. After increasing the price of electricity to over 100% citizens of Kosovo, and as it is unable to control the price emissions of every elementary product of the family basket, the government started the day with an attempt to re-trace Kosovo citizens through a bark and no less than 100 euros.”, he said.
Citing this decision as social assistance to be granted for April alone, Nikaj has raised the question of what citizens will do in May.
At this time of crisis, citizens need state hands and any assistance is welcome, but unfortunately they cannot afford the price crisis with government charities. This government, with its main characteristic disability, has no planning, no vision, no strategy, and no development. All of this is trying to compensate through current decisions that are more like charity than in long-term thinking actions that address the needs of citizens. Kosovo citizens will be here for the next month, after April, and the price of honours that rose over the past few months will continue to remain high.”, Nikaj added.
The PDK estimates that the best solution for all Kosovo citizens indiscriminately is the adoption of the wage law and the rise in minimum wage. And until this is done. The PDK estimates the 100-euro package should continue for all workers.
Today we are in the middle of the fourth month of this year and this government has not yet launched any economic development project or any capital investment. This populist prime minister's decision has a single purpose, to try to prevent major civic discontents that have been accumulated in recent months by government failure. But Kosovo citizens have already understood populism and no longer fall into its trap, which is proving every day that they do not know the government and that there is no vision for the country's economic development.”, he said.
