The Constitutional Court in Pristina has made a decision to suspend implementation of the ZERE decision on energy expensive.
Through its decision, the Court found that the execution of the ERE decision would cause irreparable damage to citizens and that this damage would be manifested financially, respectively, in the difficulty of citizens coping with the payment of bills with new electricity tariffs, which are hard to deal with covered by citizens, especially in the fact that price increases in many essential household basket products.
The chief of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Abelard Tahiri, has said at the news conference today that after a major job together with the PDK professional team, a major victory has been reached for the suspension of the ZER's unfair decision to expensive 100 per cent of electricity for Kosovo citizens.
“During this period of energy crisis, we have had an extremely serious commitment to argue before the Court that Kurti and ZRRE Government's decision was illegal and harmful to Kosovo citizens. This court ruling proves that competence and knowledge triumph”, he has declared.

MP The PDK, Ferat Shala, at the same time chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Economics, Trade, Industry and Intervention, said the Court's decision testifies that the Government has made very damaging decisions for citizens in the time of the energy crisis, so he warned that the Parliamentary Investigative Commission will soon be established, where all government abuses with public funds will be cleared in times of energy crisis.
The Court's decision has re-registered all demands of the PDK Parliamentary Group for political interference and inequality in the billing process. This court ruling is an additional argument for establishing the Parliamentary Investigative Commission as soon as possible to investigate the government's mismanagement during the energy crisis”, Shala said.
PDK Headship member Blerand Stavileci said at the conference that the government led by Albin Kurti through dictatorship and pressures in independent institutions is forcing them to make illegal and damaging decisions on citizens.
“Maybe citizens can also forgive the Government the cost of mistakes as a result of incompatibility and disability, but they can't forgive the tip for the extreme deformity of their will to have regular energy supply and affordable prices”, Stavileci said.
The PDK, in the quality of the plaintiff near the Constitutional Court in Pristina on March 18th, 2022, has handed over the indictment for abolishing ruling No. 077/22, of February 16th 2022, of the Energy Regulatory Office, with which this institution had approved retail electricity tariffs for consumers with the right to supply universal service.
