Hungary's prime minister and Russia's old ally, Viktor Orban, has said he has asked Vladimir Putin to impose an immediate ceasefire, writes Sky Nesa, as Periskopi follows.
Orban, who managed to secure his fourth mandate Sunday, told reporters that he has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin for peace talks in Hungary.
The talks, he said, would be held with the presidents of France and Ukraine, as well as with the German Chancellor. Orban said the Russian president's response was positive, but that he would have conditions.
But as he introduced the rhetoric of someone trying to find solutions to the crisis, Orban pledged to pay Russian gas by rubles if asked for by Russia -- a move that would mark several steps of aid to Russia's economy.
