Finance Minister Iron Murati has been declared about the demand for the withdrawal of 30% of Trust funds.
Murati at a media conference said that attracting these tools from the Hoti Government in 2020 has had a negative effect on the economy.
“About the Trust issue we've given several arguments and answers to this topic. As for the effect on the economy or public finance that happened for the first time in 2020, the first withdrawal of 10%. Its effect will be noted in public finances because we have been left with a 110m-euro hole to pay for the reimbursement”, Murati said.
And the consequences of the first decision to withdraw 10% of the Trust, according to Murata are still noted in Kosovo's fiscal policies.
Instead of the fiscal policies, with the money we raise for the budget to make new policies to support citizens, increase pensions or increase support for households in social conditions, we need 110m euros to get out of the budget to restore those who have pulled the means in 2020. Such irresponsible policy was when it happened”, he said.
The negative effect on the economy, according to Murati, would still be if the withdrawal of 30% of the Trust is allowed.
If it were happening now, I have said in the past that the impact would be largely negative in the economy, because we are in an inflammatory environment. In the environments where there is inflationary pressure and the tendency to increase prices, it is conscious that any increase in the amount of money in the market in a way that is improper or uncontrolled creates new inflationary pressures”, he said.
And that attraction would also promote price hikes.
This will harm families in need and have no Trust. The prices would continue to rise. Pressure would develop for price hikes, which mainly harm those who are unemployed, and mainly private sector workers who have no savings in the Trust”, Murati said.
We remember LDK deputy Avdullah Hoti had asked Finance Minister Iron Murati what state Kosovo is if it took loans to pay off social schemes.
