The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, on the 23rd anniversary of Kostare's Battle of Kosovo, has paid tribute to the fallen ones in the battle.
He through a Facebook post, said that the KLA's act of bravery was inspired to travel the country towards freedom. According to him, Kostare's military triumph was a threat to all Albanians.
On the morning of April 9, 1999, 23 years ago, men and women of the Liberation Army had begun breaking up the Albanian border, with which they had given history one of the most glorious Albanian battles. Their act of bravery, more than symbolic of breaking a wall of conquest, was inspired by our journey to freedom. Kostare's military triumph was a breach for all Albanians”.
He said that all witnesses of this battle will be remembered and honored, including foreigners who gave up their lives.
Today, we remember and honor the fallens of the Kostunica Battle, honor men like Agim Ramadani, Sali Cekaj, Xhemajl Fetaj, Abaz Thaci, and any heroes of this great battle. We also honor all the foreign on our altar of freedom; we honor Frenchman Pallard Arnaud Pierre, Algerian Murad Muhammad Ali of Italian Francesco Giuseppe Bider”, he wrote.
The former, the fallen, this glory and this sacrifice is a constant reminder that every day of ours is the duty of service to our holy homeland Kosovo”.
