Former Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokkapiq has refused to hand over office to new Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic under protocol.
Krivokapiq has said he has wished to hand over the task to someone he claims is legitimate in the post of prime minister.
Instead of accepting Krivokapic's duty, he left a message in Abazovic's office.
Because we had a constitutional breach and procedures. I don't want to give legitimacy to democratic and legal wrongdoing. I left a clear message in the cabinet regarding the transition”, Krivokapiq said.
Dritan Abazovic was elected prime minister two days ago after receiving the majority of votes in the Montenegrin Parliament, becoming the first Albanian prime minister in Montenegro.
