Except for Kosovars, this: Threatening Swiss hand grenade salesman, trial begins against him

At a gas station in Belp, Bern, dramatic scenes have occurred in the guesh of 2020. A person had entered the store just before closing and had asked for a pack of cigarettes, broadcast albinfo.ch. But when it came to paying, he did not get his wallet out of his pocket but a hand grenade, functional.

He was asking for money and, as writes “Berner Zeitung”, to further stress his goal, he had manipulated the safety needle of the grenade.

The seller has reacted in shock. She was so worried that she could not immediately open the money chest. But when the ark was finally opened, the robber had already left the gas station, not robbing anything.

Police have quickly identified the suspected author. During the subsequent search of the house, police have found a grenade on Kosovo's 32-year-old 32-year-old, broadcast albinfo.ch. He had initially denied crime.

Yet, thanks to numerous evidence, the truth was evident. Not far from the crime scene, a baseball hat was found with its DNA, which resembles that captured by surveillance cameras. A biometric measurement between his physics and video recordings was also consistent.

The issue is being addressed this week before the regional court Bern-Mittelland.

At Wednesday's hearing, the accused has admitted criminal work. In court he said the grenade was taken years earlier as “suvinir”. But he did not reveal who gave it to “suvenir”. Kosovar also said he had voluntarily interrupted the robbery after seeing how frightened the ark worker had been.

But the prosecutor in charge doesn't trust him. In the judicial process, she has described how dangerous the situation was. She has also indicated that the assaulted saleswoman still suffers from post-traumatic stress and is being treated by doctors.

The public prosecution requires outright prison sentences of 44 months and 8 years of expulsion. The defence, on the other hand, requires prison sentences of twelve months and the expulsions.

No punishment for possession of hand grenade

Interestingly, there is no punishment for the suspected hand grenade owner in Switzerland. This is because of a legal vacuum in the Law on Materials of War, the prosecutor told the newspaper. Not only import, export or gun trade but not possession.

After all, however, the use of the hand grenade in the concrete case has indirect impact on the procedure and increases the sentence: the attempted robbery is charged as “representation of the particular risk”, transmits albinfo.ch. On the other hand, the fact that Kosovar had left the delta country without taking the spoil does not greatly affect the ease of punishment, the fact that the grenade threat had been frightening and, such a case was not known to the prosecutor throughout her entire career.
