Johnson talks to Zelensky: Increase economic pressure on Putin

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke again this evening with Ukrainian President Volodyyr Zelensky, writes Sky News, broadcast Periscopi.
He praised Ukraine's bold armed forces for the successful postponement of Russia's invading army to a number of areas, but acknowledged the great challenges that remain and the endless suffering caused to civilians.
The prime minister informed President Zelensky of the progress made at last week's military donors' conference, called by the 35-nation United Kingdom, and pledged to continue to boost defence support. President Zelensky underlined the urgency of Ukraine's war for its survival as a free country. and the democratic nation and the importance of international aid.
President Zelensky also updated the status of peace negotiations and welcomed further involvement of the United Kingdom in these diplomatic efforts. The two leaders agreed on the importance of continuing to mount sanctions to increase economic pressure on Putin's war machine, as long as Russian troops remain in Ukraine.
They vowed to stay in close contact and speak again in the days ahead.
Zelensky also posted to Titter for their telephone conversation, adding that they were looking forward to the donors' conference for Ukraine. PERISCOP/
