The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council's proposal that Blerim Isufaj be the new chief state prosecutor has prompted the international response. Today, German Ambassador Jorn Rohde has also reacted.
He has said the selection process has been really disappointing, while this is not the way forward.
During yesterday, the chief of the EU Office in Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, also reacted, while organisations like IKD, GLPS and FOL have named KPK's proposal as unacceptable.
This is really disappointing and not the way forward. Especially when NGOs known as IKD and GLPS have expressed similar concerns”, Rohde wrote on Twitter.
Chief Special Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj unanimously received 11 votes of KPK members and was declared a proposal for the chief state prosecutor.
This decision by the Prosecutor's Council on Isufaj's proposal in this position has been sent to the president of Kosovo for decree, and after the decree will officially take office.
The KKP estimated that the whole process of appointing the new state chief prosecutor has been objective, transparent, inclusive and fully based on meritocracy.
