The United States announced a day earlier sanctions against Putin's two daughters, Marija Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonokova, as well as Russia's largest public and private banks. According to American officials, girls can hide their father's assets in their name.
“Of course we see these sanctions as prolonging the raged position of Russia. However, the fact that they are imposing restrictions on family members speaks for itself”, said Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov.
“Kremlin cannot guess why Putin's girls are being targeted. This is hard to understand and explain. Unfortunately, we have to deal with these types of opponents”.
