Guterres pledged that he would step up efforts across the board and expand council cash assistance by distributing $100m a month to reach 1.3 million people by May and cover 2 million by August.
The 15-member UN Security Council is specifically in charge of ensuring global peace and security and has faced criticism for failing to act since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February. / A2 CNN
