Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy (PDK) Blerta Deliu-Kodra has criticised the government's approach to foreign policy.
She said in an interview for Online Economy that the country is in status-quo, because it has been a year since Kurti Government has come to power there is no recognition of membership in international organisations.
MP Deliu-Codra said that during this time only numerous foreign minister scandals -- Donika Grovalla -- were seen, but no step representing Kosovo with any state.
In this case, European Integration Commission member said Kosovo is not well with the state even with Albania.
The” has been years since Kosovo has not only no recognition, but there is no membership in any important international mechanism and, of course, the country is in the status quo as far as foreign policy and the commitment Kosovo institutions should have to lobby more. All we have in these years has been numerous scandals by the foreign minister, but we have not had a step that represents Kosovo with any state”.
This government, therefore, has scaled large-scale even with our friendly states with Albania, with Montenegro, and we do not stand as we have been before and there is no agenda of the Foreign Ministry to strengthen Kosovo's international subjectivity at this time when developments have moved to Ukraine. Kosovo is not that there has been any precise step and any clear agenda, whether with the recognition of five states which have not recognised Kosovo or even with Kosovo's membership in the UN, but also with the recognitions we have now forgotten and how long”, Deliu-Codra said.
According to her, government efforts so far have been dim with regard to membership in the Council of Europe and NATO.
Therefore, according to her, the state of Kosovo dares not have such an attempt where Kosovo can apply and not have positive results from this process.
However, Deliu-Codra added that in these circumstances foreign policy should play its role that will be strengthening with allies, but, of course, fulfilling the obligations the prime minister has, reports EO.
I strongly believe that the Government must be careful not to have just statements such as internal consumption for membership either in the UN or in NATO as we have heard in recent days, but it must be prepared to take over obligations like Government that Kosovo must meet to be approached by many states to make that membership happen. What we have seen so far has been dim and there is nothing concrete about membership in the Council of Europe, either for NATO. But there is no step by the prime minister of the president and foreign minister to strengthen Kosovo's international subjectivity”.
Kosovo's “State does not dare to have such an attempt where we would try and have no advantage of this application of ours. The application should occur when the Government is clear about what its steps will be to ensure that, in the case of Kosovo's application, Kosovo will score successes and receive state support. Such a situation where we have few meetings and our external agenda is more displaced in our internal agenda we have not seen clear moves that the state of Kosovo must strengthen further. We have recently seen attacks in Serbia's north and attempt to violate the state of Kosovo. Under these circumstances foreign policy should play its role that will be strengthening with allies, strengthening with friends, but, of course, carrying out the obligations Prime Minister” has, she said.
