The Polish government has issued a guide on how to prepare for a crisis such as war.
It instructs the public what to do during the attacks on weapons ranging from conventional to chemical and nuclear, as well as describing the public warning systems to be used in such events.
The guide advises people to store water, food, medicine, batteries, and torches in case of power outages, writes Sky News, broadcast news.
Although the government said it is obliged to prepare the public for various scenarios, it denied that the guide had any ties to the war in Ukraine. Previous guides had involved such situations as floods and severe winter weather.
The threat of Russian occupation, however, may be in the minds of some in Poland, which shares a border with Ukraine.
While Russia has primarily concentrated its war efforts in northern, southern and eastern Ukraine, it has carried out bombings in the western town of Lviv 43 miles from the Polish border.
There is no specific information that Russia is planning an attack on Poland, or that the latter is expecting one, but fears Russia may try to expand its conquest in neighbouring countries.
