Speaking to reporters in NATO after a meeting of foreign ministers, Secretary Blinken said the United States is considering what new weapons could be sent to Ukraine. He spoke of the new “systems” that have not been provided so far by NATO member states, but did not reveal further details.
He added that the United States is monitoring and increasing pressure on the Kremlin.
NATO member states agreed to strengthen support for Ukraine and are offering a wide range of weapons systems, the Secretary General said Thursday. NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, after the alliance's foreign ministers' meeting.
Stoltenberg told reporters that NATO members also agreed to do more to help other partners and strengthen their defence capacity, including Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian leaders are calling on residents of eastern regions, where the country's industrial heart is located, to leave now as they still have this opportunity, while Russian forces, who have fled the outskirts of Kiev, are being re-organized to start offensive in eastern regions of Ukraine. /voa
