Speaking to reporters during the EU foreign ministers' meeting, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg told reporters that “is different to be eye-to-eye and to tell her what is true: that this de facto president has lost moral war”.
It should be in his interest that someone tells him the truth. I think this is important and we owe ourselves if we want to save people's lives. The reason for this meeting is that we don't want to miss any opportunity, we have to use every opportunity to end the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine... any voice that will help Putin see reality beyond the Kremlin wall, is not a lost voice”, Schallenberg added.
Nehammer is expected to become the first EU leader to meet with Putin since the beginning of Ukraine's Russian occupation since it began in late February.
