The seized amount reached 808kg of cocaine and totaled 108m euros.
Drugs were launched by Turbo port in Colombia and had Turkey as its destination. The amount of drugs, each of which had a pound [1 kg] package, was hidden in a refrigerator load of 1,200 banana boxes.
Customs officers, along with members of Malta's drug police squad who were called at the scene, opened the container and began to physically inspect all boxes and then set up 800 packages with a white substance hidden in 26 boxes, which provided a positive index of high-clean cocaine.
Pakos carried a net weight of 1kg each and were hidden inside fruit boxes.
