He in a video address last night claimed that Russian forces in this town would enter history as the responsibility for war crimes.
Doing this to a peaceful city, what the invaders did, is a terror that will be remembered for the coming centuries,” he said.
For more than two weeks, the city has seen frequent bombings that have cut off all electricity, gas, water, and other supplies.
Russian attacks have hit civilians' shelters, a child hospital and maternity ward, as well as several residential buildings. On Thursday, a bomb landed in a theater where hundreds of people were sheltered.
More than 2,400 people are said to have been killed in this city; there are mass graves and bodies on the street.
Russian forces have advanced deeper into the city. Along with the air raids, there are now reports of intense street fighting.
On Saturday, a senior United Kingdom defence official told the BBC that Russia is using an exhumation strategy in Ukraine.
