There's a gathering of Russian troops for new attacks on Donbas. And, we're preparing for this”, Zelensky said in a video address published in the early hours Thursday.
He voiced scepticism against Russia's statements that he would reduce military operations around Ukraine's capital, Kiev, and the other city, Chernihiv.
“We don't trust anyone”, Zelensky said.
According to him, there is no reason to believe Russia's claims, as Russian forces “have continued to attack Kiev and Chernihivin” a day after promising to reduce military activity around these cities.
Russia has pledged these pledges during peace negotiations with Ukraine on 29 March in Istanbul.
The West has also said Russian pledges should be viewed carefully.
Zelensky reiterated that Ukrainian forces would continue to protect their territory.
We will not give up on anything. And, we will fight for every meter of our land, for every person”, he said. /rel
