Zelenskiy said this during an interview with Ukrainian Suspilne public service.
The “is a long process in which the decision must be made by the Ukrainian parliament and people”, Zelensky said.
The Ukraine president's comments come after a series of negotiations between the Ukraine and Russia delegates. Zelenskiy said he has not met with Russian negotiators, but has told his delegation that any significant compromise would require a referendum.
I explained to our negotiators that when it comes to possible changes, especially important historical changes, a referendum should be held. The people must decide on this or that form of compromise. And what compromise can be made will depend on the” negotiations, Zelenskiy said.
When asked by a journalist about the compromises Ukraine would be willing to reconcile, Zelenskiy said: “I think it's hard to understand what they (the Jews) are really willing to agree to stop the war, and what they want to do if we don't be ready for this or compromise”.
Zelenskiy reiterated that he is willing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin personally.
