French President Emmanuel Macron has told his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, that he is making a huge “malpractice” in Ukraine, which he is lying to himself about the government in Kiev and that the war will cost Russia too much in the long term, a French official said, writes the side, says Periscope.
In the phone call initiated by Putin on Thursday, the Russian leader reiterated his commitment to the neutralisation and demilitarisation of Ukraine, either by diplomacy or by war, the official said.
“There was nothing in Putin's speech that could calm us”, said French president's adviser, adding that Putin reiterated his association that he is trying to make Ukraine's Qaeda-inaugurative.
“You are lying to yourself” told Macron to Putin, the official said.
“War will be expensive for your country, your country will end up as isolated, weakened and under sanctions for a very long time”, it was quoted as saying Macro, Putin. /Periscopi
