The Ukrainian Army General Staff said the Russian army has collected tanks and motorised infantry units, currently on the way to the nearby town of Irpin.
The announcement is said to have supplied their forces with fuel sent from Belarus.
Officials also said the Russian Army is focusing its efforts on the siege of eastern towns, Harkiv and Chernihiv, and the southern town of Mikoliev.
Russia has begun its invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.
The West has strongly condemned the act and imposed a series of serious sanctions against Russia.
The United Nations has confirmed the death of over 360 civilians in the fighting in Ukraine.
Fighting has forced more than 1.5 million people to flee their homes. / REL
