Ukraine's Armed Forces said their air defence has destroyed at least 12 Russian airboats -- two aircraft, three helicopters, three drones and four rockets.
Meanwhile, local media have quoted the head of Ukraine's Presidency advisers as adding that the armed forces have also hit six Cornobaivoka air base, where Russia has deployed its fleet.
These claims by the Ukrainian side have not been independently verified.
Otherwise, Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has called for meaningful peace and security talks “without delay” with Moscow on Saturday.
He said this is Russia's only chance to reduce the damage to its error in the invasion of Ukraine.
“This is the only chance for Russia to reduce the damage from its error”, Zelensky said in a video posted on social networks.
It's time to meet up, it's time to talk, it's time to restore territorial integrity and justice to Ukraine. Otherwise, Russia's losses will be such that it will take generations to recover”, he added.
