This official added that the European Union and the G7 will also announce new sanctions evasion initiative, which is “designed to prevent bypass or complete the” of sanctions.
Asked what the evasion of sanctions involved, he said it would cloud Russia's Central Bank's ability to establish international reserves, making it clear that any transaction involving gold is banned, which prevents ruble from being supported.
“The general message here is that we have taken historic steps in imposing costs on Russia, now let's make sure that we are completely on the line and take maximum influence from the measures we have implemented”, he said.
