The Russian state agency Interfax quoted Shoig as saying: “The goal of the first phase of the operation has been completed. The military potential of Ukraine's Armed Forces is halved significantly, enabling us to focus on the main goal of achieving the grand goal: the liberation of Donbas”.
Shoigu further added that Ukraine's air and defence systems have been destroyed and that Russia now has control over Ukraine's sky.
