Russia intensifys attacks on Ukraine's urban areas

An American official said that a Russian armoured convoy, several miles long, which has been directed to the country's capital, Kiev, has made no progress in the last 24 hours. She was stuck in the country because of logistical problems, lack of fuel and food, as well as probably stopped to reevaluate military tactics.
The Russian Defence Ministry urged Kiev residents to leave and said it would hit some areas it did not specify, used by Ukraine's security and communication services.
Speaking in Kiev at a government complex under strict security, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia must “first stop shelling people” before peace talks can mark any progress.
Mr. Zelenskiy, spoke on the phone Tuesday for 30 minutes with American President Joe Biden. He said the artillery hails in the eastern town of Kharkiv constituted “state terrorism”.
The White House said President Biden and Mr. Zelenskiy discussed intensifying Russia's attacks in areas where the civilian population lives. / VOA/
