We talked about the April 3rd elections with the Austrian Chancellor. We want the Constitution, law and resolution of January 15th this year to be respected and we don't want to stumble, we can't afford Kosovo citizens, with Serbia's passport the right to vote. There may be someone who will destabilise, incident, but you will not find this among the people of Kosovo and our institutions, he said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani gave big words against holding a category of Serbian elections in Kosovo a few weeks ago.
She stressed that in the resolution the ways in which the country's sovereignty could be voted have been made clear, respecting the country's sovereignty.
“As far as Serbia's election holds in April as president, my request is to respect the resolution issued by the Kosovo Parliament, where it speaks of ways it can be voted, respected by the best international practices, without violating our sovereignty”, Osmani has said in the interview for RTK.
According to her, stopping the vote in Kosovo for Serbia's referendum has been one of the best moments of the political scene.
“The process of failing to hold Serbia's referendum in Kosovo has been one of the best moments of our political scene because there is a complete unification of “positions, Osmani added further.
The president stressed that this has not been the issue of the right of Serbs to vote, but the organisation of the elections of another state in our state, which is a matter of sovereignty.
Osmani even had a criticism of the international community that is not treating Kosovo equally with other states.
She took for example the fact that Russia's elections in Ukraine were described as illegal, while Kosovo was being called on to allow Serbia's.
When Russia is holding elections in Ukraine, all democratic states are calling them illegal, when Serbia wanted to hold the referendum in Kosovo, were required to be allowed, where is the difference here, both have territorial claims and the international community should treat us equally”, Osmani said./ P ERISCOPI/
