US nuclear weapons general reacts after Putin's threats

US Strategic Commander Admiral Charles Richard made comments during a hearing session of the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, writes CNN.
Richard attended the session from the US Strategic Command headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.
He told lawmakers that he stayed in Nebraska to make sure that he could be “, and be pleased with our defence position”.
Deputy Secretary of Defence for Politics Sasa Baker said the Department of Defence is “comfortable with our strategic defence stance”, echoing former Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin's statements.
