Protesters said war should be stopped because the consequences are felt everywhere, even in northern Macedonia.
The entire Europe is under threat from a nuclear attack. [Russian President Vladimir] Putin will make great efforts to invade Ukraine. It is a monster and aims to go into history as a major conqueror”, Aleksandar Urbanic, a member of the Ukrainian Association in northern Macedonia, said in the march against “fighting and border-free cruelty on Russia's Ukraine”.
Marjana Velkovska, representative of this association, said all Ukrainian citizens need help.
“I have relatives there, they are willing to stay there and fight for their country”, Velkovska said.
Ukraine's Ambassador to Skopje, Natalia Zadoroznjuk, said that the people of Ukraine are struggling hard against one of the most powerful armies in the world, but, according to her, without strong support from abroad, it will be difficult to face Russian invaders, who, according to the ambassador, are not choosing forms of attacks against any Ukrainian settlement.
Russia is fighting the whole world, while Ukraine is fighting for the world. We will win, but we need support from all over the world, including North Macedonia, which has done everything possible to help us by joining sanctions as well as condemning the aggression of Russian invaders”, Ambassador Zadorozinyuk said.
The “E are very difficult, our peaceful villages and cities are being bombed, corridors are being bombed to prevent civilian evacuation, innocent people who want their country are being killed. We want more sanctions, we want our air space closed for flights, Russian attacks unable. We are fighting, but we need help”, she added.
In the Skopje square where the march was held, photographs of the situation in Ukraine showed dead people, buildings demolished by the fighting zones. / REL
