A meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian Voldymyr Zelenskiy will be necessary once we have clarity regarding key issues. We've raised our concerns about these issues for many years, but the West has not listened. Finally, they heard us”, Lavrov said.
According to him, any meeting between the two presidents for the exchange of conflict-related ideas would be counterproductive.
“Putin has never refused to meet Zelenskiy. The only thing he considers essential is for meetings to be well prepared. The situation is we have a crisis in Ukraine. The conflict has lasted so long over the years that we have a large number of accumulated problems. Therefore, a meeting only for exchange of views at the moment would be against-productive”, the Russian foreign minister said. / A2 CNN
