Kosovo's dropout by professionals, major problem under EURZh

Governor Mehmeti stressed that for both the world and Kosovo in the past two years were challenging as a result of the effects of the Devov-19 pandemic on the economy.
He said the CEC's cautious measures for recovery have shown a performance in maintaining financial stability.
According to the governor, in 2021 alone new 1.8 billion loans were issued.
These comments were made during the presentation of the EURZh transition report for 2021-2022.
Meanwhile, Neli Taylor leader of the EURZh Office for Kosovo stressed that the digitalisation system is ever on the rise, therefore said Kosovo needs to have more investments in 4G infrastructure.
Until he added that the annual challenge for Kosovo is brain drain, or abandoning the country of professional people.
He said last year the EBRD has invested 15m euros in Kosovo.
Meanwhile, he mentioned that key priorities in the coming period should be to create a competitive sector in the private digitalisation sector.
Ana Cresic, senior economist in the EURZh, said the Western region still lags behind EU countries.
Although, according to Kosovo, there was a strong 10.5 recovery of economic growth, until even for 2022 it says projection is positive for Kosovo and the region.
Cresic, however, has estimated that Kosovo performs slightly weaker in comparison to the region. Therefore, it is necessary to focus the transition to the green economy.
Kresic stresses that because of developments in Eastern Europe, there are some risks that need to be managed very carefully, the first risk is inflation not only for Kosovo, but also for the region.
