Present were Central Bank Governor Fehmi Mehmeti, Deputy Minister of the Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Environment, Hysen Durmishi and Kosovo Security Bureau Director Sami Mazreku.
They praised the important step towards lowering the percentage of uninsure vehicles and the possibility of membership in the green card. Implementation of this agreement has zero costs for citizens, while spending has taken over the Insurance Bureau.
Kosovo Central Bank Governor Fehmi Mehmeti (BQK) said the deal would be possible to get fewer unregistered cars on the road.
“Today we are jointly demonstrating this important project, which presents a step towards reducing the percentage of unindesirable vehicles in Kosovo. It is a step that lowers the percentage of unsanitary vehicles that paves the way for negotiations for Kosovo's membership in the Bureau Council and then the budget will be increased and fatal accidents decrease. This will be a zero cost for citizens who will be equipped with such stickers. At the same time it paves the way for membership in the Council of Bureaus”, he said, Online Economics reported.
Deputy Minister of the Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Hysen Durmishi praised the major step towards Kosovo's membership in the green card.
We have had many meetings and discussions, and we have also signed a joint agreement and since today the implementation of stickers to all cars registered in Kosovo. Through this project, we reduce the number of unregistered cars in Kosovo. It's a big step towards membership in the green card. Whoever registers the car will put it in his car and it's cost zero to citizens. All expenses have been undertaken by the Security Bureau”, he said.
And the director of the Kosovar Bureau of Security, Sami Mazrek, said that placing these stickers increases safety in traffic and helps Kosovo Police identify unregistered cars.
“Setting stickers increases security in traffic, helps police identify cars that are without registration and security. Membership in the green card is a political problem involving the UN. We're looking at alternative forms to make solutions to green cardboard. It is the joint success for which I thank the Bureau members”, he said.
