G7 unanimously says to Putin's “” request: We're not paying with rubles.

Energy ministers of G7 member states unanimously have rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's request that oil and gas supplies be paid by rubles instead of euros or dollars, Germany's Energy Ministry has said, writes the Financial Times, Pryskopi is watching. “All G7 ministers fully agreed that this [...]
“All G7 ministers have fully agreed that this would be the clear breach of the existing” contract, Robert Habeck told reporters Monday in Berlin after a virtual meeting with counterparts from the US, UK, France, Japan, Italy and Canada.
Habeck said leaders had the same views in existing agreements that these should be respected. Germany assumed the G7 presidency earlier this year.
Last week, Putin announced that Russia would start asking buyers from Europe to pay in rubles, a decision that increased natural gas prices and empowered Russian currency.
Habeck said on Monday that this “initiative was unacceptable” for G7 countries and called for affected companies to not follow Putin's “requirements. The German vice-cancellary said Putin's “initiative was an attempt to divide” the Western world.
The German minister also said that G7 countries are “prepared for” all scenarios”, including the potential ban on Russian energy supplies, and that this initiative by Putin proves that it “is backed up on wall” because sanctions have hit Russia's economy strongly.
