Citing an internal source at the Ministry of Armed Forces, local media “lopinion” said General Vidaud was dismissed due to insufficient “informations”.
France's Chief of Defence Staff, Thierry Burkhard, admitted in an interview for the newspaper “Le Monde” The dismissal came when French intelligence services, including Vidaud, realized they had done a wrong analysis of the Russian threat in Ukraine, which conflicted with US assessment.
