Defense opposes prosecution: Besides the media, Gucati and Haradinaj have offered access to no one in the documents

Hysni Gucatt's lawyer has stated that leaders of the KLA War Veterans Organisation had offered access to documents to no one but media representatives. Jonathan Elystan Rees, until he submitted the concluding statement of defence, has said Haradinaj's Gucati has, among other things, asked reporters not to publish the names of possible witnesses who were part of the files they had reached at OVL- KLA by people still unknown.

Rees said before the court that, the heads of O VL- The KLA and their lawyer have told the media that they can publish communication between the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and Serbian officials, but not even the names of persons who could be witnesses.

“In paragraph 66 of their final file, the SPS says that people other than members of the press have been able to access this building and may have seen these documents, there is no evidence to prove that other people besides members of the press could have access to these” documents, Gucati's lawyer said.

He has said Hysni Gucati has invited reporters to read the documents, but has not told them to publish the names mentioned there.

Mr. Gucati and Mr. Haradinaj have always asked the press to protect the names of witnesses who appeared in these documents allowed to use the press... We can see here that Mr. Gucati, as he did from the beginning, invites the press to read the documents, he does not say that the names were published”, Rees said.

Hysni Gucatt's defence is presenting the concluding statement since yesterday's ZPS has completed its statement.

The closing statements are being heard after the presentation of evidence and witnesses on both sides has ended.

Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj were arrested on 25 September 2020, since they are even staying in custody at The Hague.

The flow of documents from the Special, which by a still unknown person have been sent to O'O offices VL- The KLA, and publicisation of this event by the leaders of the organisation, is the reason Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj are being tried.

On them are charges of criminal acts against administration of justice, namely obstructing official persons in performing official duties, fearing witnesses, revenge, and violating the secret of the procedure
