Today we are on the ninth day of Russia's attack on Ukraine, where large areas have already begun to fall under Russian control, writes Sky News, broadcasting Periscope.

Russian troops continue to advance in Kiev, though still out of town, but have taken areas south and north of the country.

In the early hours of the morning, Russian forces took over Zaporizhya's nuclear power plant following a domestic attack.

There were immediate fears after the fires were seen at the plant, but they were later extinguished and radiation levels remained normal.
The southern port of Kherson is facing controversial claims. Russian forces say they have captured him, while Ukraine rejects that claim.
In Mariulpol, the southern port city, local officials acknowledge that the key city is surrounded by Russian forces and is still under heavy bombing.
Transport links have been destroyed, making it difficult to evacuate residents.
An hour ago, British intelligence declared that the city was still under Ukraine's control. / P ERISCOPI/
